Major update to Appflow design system

Appflow’s goal is to help developers ship fast and easily with automated cloud native builds, live updates, and app publishing. A recent update to the design system of Appflow makes that experience even better so developers can trust their deployment process is handled and get back to creating great applications.

The Appflow team recently completed the major update, which includes the addition of a new modal component across the entire system. The change significantly improves the user experience for common workflows like creating a new build of your mobile application.

The modal combined with improvements to Appflow routing means that users can now complete other related tasks during the process of creating a new build. Gone are the days of navigating away and losing your build creation progress.

“It was one of our team’s most talked about improvements we’ve wanted to make,” said Product Designer Beth Thomas. Trevor Lambert, an intern with the Ionic team, also contributed significantly to the project.

With this update, if you need to create a new environment, native configuration, or signing certificate as part of your new native builds, you can manage all of it in a single workflow. The modal allows you to create environments (including variables and secrets) and configurations from the same screen. The updated routing means you can navigate to your signing certificates without having to start the process over. Do it all in less than a minute.

This improvement was made system-wide, so you’ll notice the streamlined experience no matter what you’re working on in Appflow.
